I
smile to myself as I feel Mitch squeeze my hand gently and we walk over the
crisp icy grass that’s more white than green. We’ve walked to the small river
every day since we met and we stare from our spot of the small rickety wooden
bridge.
Of
course when we get there the water has small lumps of ice in it. To be expected
considering the weather I suppose.
I
lean against the railing, careful not to step on the flowers that have been
laid down by our spot, and stare down into the clear water that reflects my
face back up at me.
I
can see the small gold ring glittering caught by some rocks, trapped. Of course
it won’t be there forever.
I
smile softly as I stare at it, and I feel gentle arms wrap around me.
In
the water, only my face smiles back.
